This month’s Innovation Breakfast explores what happens when Consumer Sensory Research is turned on its head. Where Sensory once meant dialing in taste and texture, in the hands of design thinkers, it has been transformed into a consumer-centric tool that unlocks unexpected solutions and new emotional connections.
MARS Wrigley has graciously invited us to their Global Headquarters to learn first-hand how they using Design Thinking. Our Innovation Breakfast panel will first introduce you to Design Thinking, and then share practical examples of how they used Sensory to unlock big insights and reframed barriers into opportunities that drove innovation success.

Lisa Saxon Reed, Global Director, Sensory - MARS Wrigley Confectionery
In her 25+years working across multiple business functions and product categories, Lisa has dedicated herself to understanding consumers and developing tools to identify, nurture, and evaluate a range of communication, product, and packaging ideas. She’s passionate about holistic design and delivering business teams what they need to bring category-building ideas quickly to market. Lisa joined MARS to help transform the consumer insight capability in R&D/Design. Over her 7 years at MARS, she is best known as a passionate advocate of consumers and a tireless builder of global functional teams. She helped transform the R&D Consumer Insight capability at Wrigley, unlocked the power of a combined Wrigley Sensory + Design team, and most recently lead the combined Global Confectionery Sensory team at MARS Wrigley.
Andrew Livermore, Senior Vice President, Product & Client Services - Curion Insights
Andrew is a highly experienced leader of consumer, sensory, market and product research, with global responsibility in the FMCG / CPG industry, focusing on product innovation. Over his 20+ years in the industry he has directed sensory, consumer and market research as well as fragrance, claims and concept development and testing for large CPG and suppliers such as Avon, Kellogg, Edgewell, Philip Morris and IFF. During his time, he has provided specialized capabilities and advanced technical expertise within sensory, behavioral, and clinical research to develop innovative strategies to understand consumer needs and product choice.
At Curion, Andrew leads the account management team with a focus on strategies for growth. He also has responsibility for research innovation and has been instrumental in launching several new research platforms.
