Joe Gottschalk, President, Base3Group LLC

Joe Gottschalk is President of Base3Group, a digital strategy, insights, and marketing agency. B3G is unique in that we work directly with key decision makers to develop, test, and learn in the real world. Using a best viable product approach to the entire value chain of branding, content, and media, our firm seeks to address the challenges that today’s disaggregated media environment presents and remove the layers that exist between business leaders and their consumers. Joe and the team built B3G from the ground up for today’s new reality and know no other way.

Joe brings valuable global consumer and marketing experience from his 20+ years leading brand-building insights, marketing, and strategy for a variety of consumer packaged goods companies. Joe was most recently Vice President of Portfolio Marketing, Strategy & Insights for PepsiCo’s North American Nutrition business, and Vice President of Nutrition Insights for both PepsiCo’s Global Nutrition Group as well as North American Nutrition. Joe has also worked in global insights at Mars Chocolate, Wrigley, Unilever, Tropicana, and Procter & Gamble.  Originally from Bettendorf, Iowa, Joe began his professional career in the US Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer.  He also holds a BS of Mechanical Engineering from the US Naval Academy as well as a Masters of Engineering Management from The George Washington University. Joe is married with three children.

Charley Orwig, VP Marketing & Customer Category Solutions, DMA; Faculty - Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and Benedictine University

Charley is a dynamic business leader and marketing executive with 20+ years of experience driving revenue growth. He’s also a dedicated networker committed to helping those in transition since being “downsized” in 2014. Charley is currently the VP of Marketing at DMA and holds part time faculty positions at both Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and Benedictine University, where he teaches practitioner-based, “real world” marketing and communications courses.

Lisa Johnson, Managing Director, Kincannon & Reed

Based in Chicago, Lisa is a member of Kincannon & Reed’s Food and Ingredients team. She specializes in recruiting and succession assignments for the firm’s clients seeking general managers, presidents, and CEOs, as well as senior functional executives in marketing, sales, finance, business development, and R&D.

Prior to joining Kincannon & Reed, Lisa ran her own company focused on pairing food manufacturers and retailers around the world. In addition, she brought global best practices to help clients optimize production methods for increased productivity and profitability.  A serial entrepreneur, Lisa started her first company – a healthy fast food restaurant in downtown Chicago – at the age of 27. Less than two years later, she co-founded Gourmet Kitchens, Inc., a fresh food manufacturing firm, and grew the company to nearly $50M in annual revenue before it was acquired.  Lisa frequently speaks on Fresh Prepared Foods, and her passion, Women’s Entrepreneurship. Her awards and recognitions include Regional Finalist in Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Inductee in the Chicago Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame, Wells Fargo Trailblazer Award, NAWBO-Chicago Businesswoman of the Year Award, and the Industrial Council of NearWest Chicago’s Business of the Year Award. She holds a Bachelors’ degree from the University of Missouri.
